  • Provide dental hygiene education that meets professional standards established by the American Dental Association Commission on Dental Accreditation.

  • Educate students to practice to the full extent of the Dental Practice Law of Colorado.

  • Integrate basic, social, and dental hygiene sciences into the practice of dental hygiene.

  • Practice clinical dental hygiene in a variety of health care settings with traditional and non-traditional (special needs) client populations, promoting access to care for under-served populations.
  • Practice dental hygiene using the dental hygiene care model securing the appropriate consultations and necessary referrals.

  • Promote professional development of the student through participation and activities in external rotations, SADHA, and community dental health projects.
  • Demonstrate professional conduct and attitude.
  • Apply dental health education and promote knowledge and skills in advancing the health of the public

  • Apply interpersonal skills in interactions with clients, the public, and other health care professionals.

  • Commitment to personal growth and professional development through life-long learning and involvement in the dental hygiene profession.
