Credential Assessment

To take the test to obtain a credential in Early Childhood Education, call or come to the CCD Testing Center to make an appointment.   The Basic credential assessment is available for a Level I credential, and the Advanced assessment is available for Levels II, III, and IV.

When is this test given?   During the months of February, June and October at the times listed below:
 
Regular Testing Schedule:
Monday through Thursday at 9:00 AM or 1:00 PM
Tuesday and Wednesday at 4:00 PM

What is the Testing Fee :   $35.00 payable at the time you make your appointment.   This fee is non-refundable!   We accept credit card, check or cash. Pay in person or give us your credit card number over the phone.

What should I bring to the test?    All you need to bring is a valid picture I.D. that also has your signature on it.   We will accept a driver's license, state ID card, passport, or similar official documents.   Items such as birth certificates, school IDs, and work IDs are not permitted.   You are not permitted to use any aids during the test, i.e., books, notes, dictionaries, calculators, et cetera.

How long is the test?   The test is 3 hours to complete.   It is administered on the computer.

What is the passing score?   There are 250 questions on the test, and you must get 80% of them correct to pass.

When will I get my results?   You will get your results immediately at the end of the test.   If you pass and your credential application is complete, the Colorado Early Childhood Professional Credential Office will mail you a copy of your credential.

What if I don't pass?   You may take the test as many times during a month that it is offered.   Re-take is $35.00 per exam.

Where is the CCD Testing Center? We are located on the Auraria Campus in downtown Denver.   The CCD Testing Center is located in the South Classroom Building on the second floor in Room 223.   If you need parking, you may park in the Tivoli Parking Structure (TAPS) off of 9th Street and Auraria Parkway.   Bring your parking ticket with you to be validated.   The RTD Light Rail (D-Line) also stops on Colfax near the South Classroom Building.
