Title: Adjunct Faculty - Nurse Aide Instructor
[Nursing Department]
RESPONSIBILITIES: Teach didactic and clinical courses as needed in the Nurse Aide program. Mentor and support students in learning. Collaborate with program chair in scheduling courses, work in the skills lab to support the application of knowledge, provide clinical instruction, and complete student evaluations (final grades by due dates). Respond to requests made by the program director, work collegially and professionally with others on staff, complete other duties as assigned and provide an outstanding role model for students.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Two years of nursing experience with at least one year in long term care facility caring for the elderly and/or the chronically ill of any age. Hold an active Colorado Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse license in good standing.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience with teaching adults or supervising nurse aides.
SALARY: Salary placement will be determined by education and experience.

Responsibilities:
This position will be trained to assist all of the various unit coordinators. This includes, but is not limited to, clinical manager, educational case manager, site based EPN/NUA manager, student intake coordinator, and office manager. The purpose of this position is to support the department as a whole. This position will answer all incoming calls. The position will be the first point of contact for all students, potential students and all outside inquiries. This position will be responsible for all textbook orders for 5 different disciplines. This position will maintain the filing system and audit student files as needed. This position will complete other duties as assigned.

PURPOSE/SUMMARY OF JOB: This position will provide the students of the Medical Office Technology program with excellent, relevant, current and learner-centered instruction in the clinical practices and procedures of medical assisting. This position will report to the Chair of MOT.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
-Demonstrate a thorough and accurate knowledge of the clinical medical assisting procedures and practices.
-Teach assigned classes at scheduled time and place.
-Write and provide students with syllabi for all courses taught.
-Conduct timely and consistent assessment of student learning achievements.
-Maintain accurate student records (enrollment, attendance, grades).
-Keep office hours that are reasonable for student access.
-Assist, advise, and mentor students in accomplishing their course and program goals.
-Assign and submit grades based upon the results of evaluation and college grading policy. (Grades must be submitted by the published date.)
Qualifications: Any equivalent combination of education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Education: Completion of a vocational training in medical assisting or equivalent patient care discipline.
Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Experience: 2 or more years of work experience in a healthcare environment with emphasis on patient care procedures and policies.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: -Knowledge of current medical assisting clinical practices.
-Ability to communicate effectively and work effectively with diverse student populations, staff and faculty.
-Ability to provide learner-centered instruction
-Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills
Licensure/Certification: Certification as a medical assistant. Eligible to obtain Colorado Community System and Technical Education (CTE) credential.
Equipment Used: Computer knowledge and proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite software programs.

Adjunct Faculty for Developmental English
The Developmental English adjunct faculty member needs an MA in English, Composition, or a closely related field or to have at least 18 hours of graduate credit in ENG or a related field and be working on an MA. Two to three years teaching English at the Developmental level in a community college setting is preferred. The person will be responsible to teach courses in ENG 030, ENG 060, and/or ENG 090, to attend department meetings and faculty development sessions during the semester.

The responsibility of this professional radiographer is to supervise and facilitate clinical education, providing every student the quality educational experience consistent with the mission and goals of the Community College of Denver, Radiology Technology Program.
· Teach and mentor students of radiologic technology in the classroom and at the clinical setting. 90% time
· Attend regular staff, and advisory board meetings and participate in program process implementation and outcomes assessment. 10% of time
Education: Current registration as a Radiologic Technologist A.R.R.T., Bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience: Minimum 2-years or equivalent as a full-time radiographer; Teaching experience preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Skilled in all aspects of Radiography to include: diagnostic procedures, trauma radiography, surgical procedures, and fluoroscopy. Able to serve as a liaison between the college and the clinical affiliates.
Licensure/Certification: Current licensure through the A.R.R.T.
