ENROLL IN A PREPARATION CLASS
The first step is to take reading and math diagnostic assessments to determine your current skill level. That way, you’ll start at the level right for you, so you gain the knowledge you need to successfully pass the GED® tests. Enrollment is available by appointment at set times only, please call 303-556-3805 to be placed on the orientation list.
ABOUT THE CLASSES
This is a list of the classes offered and the test scores needed for each one:
|Adult Secondary Education
• 9.0 - 12.9 or higher
|High Intermediate Adult Basic Education
|| • 6.0 - 8.9
|Low Intermediate Adult Basic Education
|| • 4.0 - 5.9
|Beginning Basic Education
|| • 2.0 - 3.9
|Beginning Adult Basic Education Literacy
|| • 0 - 1.9
HOW THE CLASSES WORK
• Classes meet twice a week for a total of five to six hours each week.
• Many classes are offered in the morning, afternoon and evening; but not every class is offered at every time of day.
• Group lessons are led by instructors. You will also work on the computer and complete individual assignments.
Regular attendance is required; if you must miss a class you need to let your instructor know. Progress in the program is necessary to remain enrolled; this means you will need to attend class, complete assignments, pass practice tests, and work toward completing the GED® tests.
The registration fee of $40 covers the cost of the program and one text book. If you need additional text books you will have added costs.

GED® TESTING COSTS
After you have improved your skills and passed the official GED® practice tests, you can take the actual GED® tests. The cost is $150 for all 4 tests, but you may pay also for one test at a time, each test cost is: $37.50. Payment is made online by debit or credit card when you schedule your tests.
GED® TESTING CENTER
You will take the computer-based GED® tests in the CCD Testing Center on the second floor of Confluence, room 216, 800 Curtis, on the Auraria Campus. You’ll need to register and pay online before you come to take the test. An outside company, Pearson-Vue, handles the national regulations for the GED®, that’s why registration and payment are completed through their website www.gedtestingservice.com
