Community College of Denver awarded scholarship funding for non-traditional students
(Denver, CO) Community College of Denver (CCD) announced today that it has received a $34,000 grant from the Daniels Fund to provide scholarships to non-traditional students through the Boundless Opportunity Scholarship program.
“We appreciate the generosity of the Daniels Fund,” said Dr. Ryan Ross, dean of Student Development and Retention at CCD. “Through the Boundless Opportunity Scholarship we will be able to benefit students who face additional challenges in accomplishing their educational goals.”
The Boundless Opportunity Scholarship (formerly the Daniels Opportunity Scholarship) is designed to honor and support non-traditional students who recognize the value of an education in creating a better life for themselves and their families. It is intended for highly motivated students seeking the next level of achievement in their lives, regardless of their life path.
The scholarship is need based and targets specific candidates including non-traditional students over the age of 50; military veterans; and students with experience in youth correctional facilities.
“Students who dream of bettering their lives with a college education are often least able to afford one,” said Linda Childears, president and CEO of the Daniels Fund. “Boundless Opportunity Scholarships are intended to give a boost to non-traditional students seeking the social and economic benefits of a college education.”
