(Denver, CO) Community College of Denver (CCD), HITECH Colorado and the Colorado Regional Health Information Organization are hosting a Health Information Technology Seminar to help prepare IT specialists, health informatics specialists, physicians, practice managers, clinicians and support staff for the impact of the HITECH Act.
This seminar will take the mystery out of the HITECH Act and participants will leave with an understanding of what it means to their facility, and understand the language and vocabulary of Healthcare Information Technology (HIT), Electronic Health Records (EHR) and Healthcare Information Exchange (HIE). Participants will learn how to determine what their facility already has and what it needs before meeting with a software vendor. Planning is the first step to implementing an efficient EHR. Having a skilled and informed workforce insures the right needs are address and creates collaboration within an organization.
The seminar will be from 8:00 a.m.-5 p.m. on Friday, September 16, at CCD–Lowry, Colorado Community College System Conference Center, 1061 Akron Way, Bldg. 697, Denver, Colorado 80230
The HITECH Act requires medical records to be digitized by 2015. Sessions include strategic planning and EHR readiness, healthcare system infrastructures, health information systems acquisition and implementation. All participants will receive a certificate upon completion of the course.
Cost is $129, and scholarships are available to the first 50 who register. For more information and to register, contact lavella.harrison@ccd.edu or call 303-365-8304.
